American stylist Virgil Abloh died at the age of 41 after the silent battle with a serious illness. He was the first African to become the artistic director of a French fashion house when he took the lead in Louis Vuitton.
Abloh was also CEO and founder of the known brand “Off-White”, a Milan-based fashion house.

News of Abloh's death spread into his official profile on the social network “Instagram”, where a statement said:
We are destroyed to announce the death of our beloved Virgil Abloh, a father, husband, son, brother and extremely devoted friend.
He has left his beloved wife Shannon Abloh, his children Lowe Abloh and Grey Abloh, his sister Edwin Abloh, his parents Nee and Eunice Abloh and many dear friends and colleagues.
For more than two years, Virgil braved a rare, aggressive form of cancer, cardiac angiosarchomas. He chose to endure his struggle in private since his diagnosis in 2019, all of which were subjected to numerous challenging treatments while running several important institutions involving fashion, art and culture.
Through it all, his work ethic, endless curiosity, and optimism never wavered. Virgil was prompted by his commitment to his trade and mission to open doors to others and to create paths for greater equality in art and design.
It often said: “Everything I do is for the 17-year-old version of myself”, trusting deeply in the power of art to inspire future generations.
We thank you all for your love and support and seek privacy as we mourn and celebrate Virgil's life. ”
