His extensive comments have been donated to supporters since the '50s and is praised as inspiration for modern-style comedy “Stand-up”, writes BBC, broadcast Report Express.
His materials for the Cold War are valued as defining the standard for political comedy. Born in Montreal, Sahl had moved with his family to Los Angeles as a child.
Sahl started performing at comedy clubs around the United States. He was the leader of the Grammy Reward Exchange ceremony in 1959, and in 1960 he was on the cover of the magazine “Time”.
The Comedian liked to make fun of all the parties, often asking the shows: is anyone here who didn't insult him?
He even made fun of politicians from different groups. “Liberals are those people who do the right thing for the wrong reasons so they feel good for 10 minutes”, Stahl said.
