The closure of the country as well as the restrictive measures imposed by governments of many states paralysed this sector, creating the effect of bankruptcy and layoffs.
According to Insta data, in the months of June, July, August, virtually throughout the summer season, the number of night stays in hotels and similar accommodation facilities in our country has dropped by 900 thousand, or by about 50 %. This causes Albania to be among the 10 countries with the greatest damage to pandemic in the summer season in Europe, most precisely in 9th place, Euronews writes.

However, the year 2021 comes with optimistic perceptions following the development of vaccines, even though tour operators require third incentives for recovery. In this context, an answer has come from the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, which will co-finance projects in the tourist sector by making it available, for next year, a 30m-dollar fund.
According to the ministry, it will be supported by funds to the extent 50% from the state budget, those projects aimed at promoting tourist destinations and specific value of products and tourist attractions.
