European Council for Foreign Relations co-chairman Carl Bildt, simultaneously the first high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has said Serbia will have to recognise Kosovo as an independent state
In an interview for the Politicki.ba, Bildt said Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic had the opportunity to do so once, but that moment has already passed.
“at some point, Serbia will have to recognise Kosovo. Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, at one point has had the power for such a decision, but that moment has been released. And he knows that this is the key to Serbia's path to the European Union”, Bildt said in this interview.
It is noteworthy that Vucic has consistently said he will not recognise Kosovo as an independent state, but by the US and EU have declared that the final agreement between the two countries must be concluded with mutual recognition.
