A true French music icon, Juliette Gréco, has died at the age of 93 after a historic career that lasted eight decades.
Born in 1927, Gréco was imprisoned by the Nazis during World War II, but then he began performing in basement clubs and cafes.
Dressed in black, she became a museum for philosophers and writers including Jean-Paul Sartre and Albert Camus.
She just stopped performing at age 89 after a farewell tour.
Gréco was also a prominent actress, working with some of the biggest cinema actors, such as Jean Cocteau, Ingrid Bergman, Orson Welles and Ava Gardner.
In France, it achieved great success in the mid - 1960s, playing the role of a schizophrenic in the thrilling Belphogor television mini-serial.
She had been married three times, but also had a long relationship with jazz trumpeter Miles Davis.
Like Tu T'imagines, Parlez-moi d'Amour and Je Suis Kome Je Suis were the big hits of the famous French singer.
