Deputy Governor for Financial Supervisor Sokol Havolli, has warned that by year the price of mandatory auto insurance policy (TPL) will be reduced, as will market liberalisation in the industry.
It became known at a media conference that Havolli has held with the chairman of the Competition Authority, Valon Prestreshi.
“The BEC over the past year has taken the necessary decisions to ensure full compensation of the parties' damages. This has included increasing tariffs and increasing companies' spending through BQC” regulations.
We try to reach a compliance with the regulatory requirements this year. The process of insurance industry arrangements has had a common priority with financial institutions that the issue of capitalism be resolved permanently”, E.O. quoted. Havollin.
Kosovo Competition Authority Chairman Valon Prestreshi said it paves the way for competitive pressure among companies operating in Kosovo.
“We discussed issues that are distracting Kosovo's citizen dealing with mandatory car insurance. We as the AKK offered solutions in this direction, in which they are based on the principles of the free competition market economy, which is phase in regulating Kosovo's constitutional system”.
“We both the AKK and the CEC have been handling this case since last year and have offered a professional recommendation regarding this issue last year, where we stressed the need for liberalisation of this market, as well as unified TPL prices, and to make way for competitive pressure between companies operating in Kosovo”, he said.
