Six police officials in northern Kosovo have been suspended as a result of their failure to respond to a beating that took place last night in northern Mitrovica.
This has been disclosed through a communique for the media by the Kosovo Police Inspectorate.
Kosovo Police “Offices in Northern Mitrovica have reacted yesterday in the afternoon an event of beating between the five suspected men on the “path King Petter”. Suspects involved in the incident have been accompanied to the police station, as well as the injured have been offered medical treatment”, said the communique.
However, there is doubt that some police officials have failed to react based on their authorisations for maintaining order and public calm and have not responded to the proper professional level in this incident.
Based on this, Kosovo Regional Police Director in Northern Mitrovica has sponsored six police officials (including them a police official with the captain's rank).
The Kosovo Police Inspectorate is also reported on. IPK investigators in line with legal authorisations and the scope of the Police Inspectorate have launched a preliminary investigation procedure in co-ordination with the competent prosecutor.
