Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Gazmend Bytyqi says the law to protect Kosovo Liberation Army values poses no threat to any Kosovo citizens. According to him, international friends' concerns are unnecessary.
He during the presentation of the draft law on the protection of Kosovo Liberation Army values at the Kosovo Assembly session, said it is important to assess Kosovo's past.
Bytyci added that it must be convincing that we are not a people “mederran”.
We are aware that it is not the best law, but the goal is more than good. The main goal of this law is to protect the KLA's war values. It is the definition of what is valuable and what is the Kosovo Liberation Army, with the structure from the general staff to the operational areas. Part of this above documentation is archive KLA. While the value of defence and we must promote it is the “Adem Jashari” complexes in Precas and other complexes. The important thing is institutional protection, an imminent demand and an emergency need that is also under particular law”, he said.
The War Museum said it must be an institution that will spread all the suffering of Albanians. Bytyqi said there are many political prisoners, MPs who have lost many families, and for that, according to him, it is time to assess the values of war.
This law poses no threat to any Kosovo citizen. The concerns of our international friends are unnecessary, since we will be open to working jointly for our second reading, especially with American friends to prosper with the highest democratic standards”, he added.
By law, “Every public and citizen official of the Republic of Kosovo is forced to respect and defend the values of the war defined with this law at any time and any circumstances within and outside the country”. Also, “with the case of stopping and arresting the KLA veteran, according to international arrest warrants issued by Serbia, with political motives, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo takes the necessary actions to protect veteran”.
If the current KLA war values protection bill is adopted in the Kosovo Assembly, the law will have budgetary implications of 2m and 250 thousand euros, without even counting on investments.
