The Kosovo Tax Administration today has presented the developed activities and the ATK results achieved for the first six months of this year.
ATK Director-General Ilir Murtezaj has said the first part of this year was with many challenges both in the health field and in the economy.
He said the revenues from the January-June taxes this year are 215.9m euros, while pension contributions 83.1m euros.
In this period of pandemic, however, there is a decline in revenues of some 23m euros.
The negative effects of pandemic are also in the financial circulation of businesses, where 833m euros or 22 per cent decline compared to the same period last year. As a result of the circumstances created after March 13th, when the first cases with COVID-19 were presented, ATK was in full support of Government, Business and Workers”, Murtezaj said.
As for the number of closed businesses and the number of workers who have lost their jobs in the pandemic, director Murtezaj has said there is still no official data on these statistics.
While, criticisms by citizens for price hikes from long-time pandemic businesses, ATK has accepted over 11,000 convictions, 4 thousand of them only have price hikes, for which the ATK has taken measures.
The first of the ATK has also said that prevention and fighting of the informal economy has taken place at this time.
With revised budget planning, ATK was meant to operate only 2.5 per cent less with the annual plan, which, according to the Murtezaj, had to be even lower because of business activity in the pandemic.
