The news revealed Valbon Krasniqi, the task of Kosovo University Clinical Hospital Service director.
“The Vushtrri Hospital will soon accept patients from the city of Mitrovica and the town of Vushtrri and the suburbs they have... Patients who need other services, not COVID-19, we will take them to Mitrovica Hospital. Meanwhile, even health personnel will be restructured in line with this” stance, Krasniqi said at a news conference.
He also said the decision has been made that, within the planning to increase the number of beds, a floor of the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo, with 60 beds, be made available to treat patients with COVID-19.
Currently, according to Krasniqi, at the QKUK clinics and in regional hospitals are treating about 450 coronary patients.
Speaking at the same news conference, Kosovo Government Health Minister Armend Zemaj said that from today, the KKUK Infectious Clinic has added to 50 new health workers with whom reinforcement of medical staff dealing with COVID-19 is planned.
There are 50 professionals with us. Meanwhile, 8 labs have started work at the National Institute of Public Health, 4 biologists. Yesterday, 20 inspectors started working with monitoring and law enforcement teams. Today, 50 doctors and 62 nurses will be distributed during the day, according to demands and needs that are still on the rise. It does not mean that we will stop with this commitment”, Zemaj stressed.
The director of the Infectious Clinic at QKUK, Lindita Ayzaj-Berisha, said that currently 96 patients with COVID-19, 60 percent of whom are being treated with oxygen therapy.
“In intensive treatment are 5 patients who are in critical condition”, Ajazaj-Berisha said.
According to data from the National Institute of Public Health in Kosovo, from the census of the first cases with coronary on March 13th until July 13th, there have been a total of 5,18 cases.
Of them, 108 patients have died, 2,370 have recovered, while active cases continue to be 2,640.
