The Anglo-Swedian pharmaceutical company said it would pay $1 billion for its partner, Daichi Sankyo, writes The Guardian, translates Periscope.
It has also promised to pay up to 1 billion if new treatments receive approval from regulators and up to 4 billion if sold as hoped.
The treatment, called DS-1062, targets Trop2 proteins overproduced by breast and lung cancers.
And the intervention in cells that produce too much protein allows treatment to make selective chemotherapy in certain areas, instead of targeting the entire body.
The medicine in question has yet to be approved anywhere in the world, and its safety and efficiency have not yet been determined. /Periscope
