Nine years ago, Kosovo Police Special Forces member Enver Zymber lost his life in office.
Enver Zymber, unforgettable to us, is the most significant example of our police officers. They are willing to give everything, even life, to the security of Kosovo and its citizens.
With the high sense of duty and patriotism, hero Enver Zymber, along with many other police officers, participated in an action aimed at establishing order and law in the north of the Republic of Kosovo. There he was killed in circumstances still unexplained by criminal organisations holding citizens hostage to that part of our country.
But that action was interrupted at the order of the then prime minister (now president at the end of his mandate). The rule of law was not settled there, rather, after that, the authorities decided to negotiate and integrate into institutions exactly the structures responsible for the murder of Enver Zymber.
During these nine years, efforts at justice have been insufficient, if not completely absent. But Kosovo needs a government working to extend order and justice across the country, bringing justice to Enver Zymber. That justice we owe to Kosovo, our Republic and its police officers.
