Diaspora breaks record with money sent to Kosovo during pandemic

Every time the country needs help, the diaspora is always near it.

According to Kosovo Central Bank statistics, in May 2020, the Kosovo diaspora has sent over 100m euros in cash to Kosovo.

All this to help Kosovo cope with the health and economic crisis.

CEC data shows that in May 2020, the Kosovo diaspora has sent 100.7m euros during May alone, albinfo reports. ch

Compared to past years, May this year has nearly doubled the value of money sent to Kosovo.

In May last year, according to CEC data the diaspora had sent 78.4m euros to Kosovo, or about 22m euros less than this year.

While in May 2018, 73.7m euros, or 27m euros less than in 2020, had come from the diaspora in Kosovo. In May 2017, 67.6m euros had been introduced in Kosovo from the diaspora.

Meanwhile, 57.3m euros had been introduced in 2016, and in May 2015, 58.3m euros.
