MP Kusrai-Lila accusing Deputy Prime Minister Selmanaj of unprofessionalism about combating pandemic, said the Hoti Government today has violated the Constitution.
However, she said she would not address the Constitutional Court and demand from law enforcement agencies not to implement the measures.
New “government decisions today are decisions outside the Constitution, all internal points can be contested by the Court. We don't want to use this as a political game and send it to the Constitutional Court and tell all law enforcement agencies and security today that there is no basis for punishment for citizens when they are caught in the streets without masks or without protection. We do not appeal as the president of the Republic has called for failing to observe or respect the measures because we have responsibilities. But you should be ashamed of coming here and not bringing the law and realize there is no need for such laws for pandemic) “, she said.
Those statements have been reacted to by Deputy Prime Minister Driton Selmanaj. Speaking of the government's stance about bills preventing the spread of the Cardi 19 pandemic, said it is meaningless that an economist is directed to a lawyer on legal matters.
Selmanaj has referred to Article 55 of the Constitutional Court about limiting human rights and freedoms.
Now when an economist tells the lawyer that they don't know how to read or understand the law. Now what I say to you, you know what I read. So don't. We're referring to the Constitutional Court: The Assembly says it does not have completely free hands to make a restriction to limit human rights and freedoms according to Article 55”, Selmanaj says.
The debate on the management of pandemic at this ongoing parliamentary session has had charges and against charges.
