American soldier in Kosovo loses his life

The US Department of Defence announced on Monday evening that a member of American forces serving under peacekeeping troops in Kosovo has lost their lives. According to the report, soldier Alexander Blake Klas, 20, of the Willina of Oregon, has lost his life in an incident that had nothing to do with armed action on 4 July at the Novosell camp in Kosovo.
The Department of Defence said the incident is being investigated, but did not provide any more details about the death of member of the National Guard of Oregon. The units he served were deployed in Kosovo early March of this year.
Currently less than 40,000 troops, of whom about 640 American soldiers serve within the NATO-led mission in Kosovo.
Last month was marked the 21st anniversary of NATO troops' entry that ended the Kosovo war that left behind more than 10,000 people dead and thousands missing.
Over 200 members of peacekeeping forces have lost their lives during their Kosovo service. /Vosa/
