Macedonia's president, Stevo Pendarovski, in an interview for Radio Free Europe has talked about the problem between Kosovo and Serbia and the situation in the region.
He has said that however Kosovo's problem is resolved, all countries in the region will feel the effects either positive or negative.
I say that changing borders cannot be a solution to the Kosovo problem, but such a solution should not lead to a domino effect in the region and should not affect and violate our borders. ”, Pendarovski said.
The Macedonian president has further said that both northern and ongoing Macedonia is seeking international guarantees on whether such an idea is on the table and whether it is accepted by Pristina and Belgrade.
The head of the Macedonian state says he hopes in a quick solution, since according to him the Kosovo-Serbia problem is keeping the region blocked and undeveloped.
“I hope in a quick settlement to this case. I honestly want to, because this problem, besides keeping the region nailed”, has added further.
Pendarovski says it is very important not to remain the frozen conflict between the two states, but to be resolved so that the entire region moves forward towards the EU.
Meanwhile, while talking about deadlines for resolving the problem between Pristina and Belgrade, Pendarovski has expressed his reservations, since the US is already entering the pre-election period.
“We are practically months away from American elections, and the EU has always followed US leadership, but at the moment I don't see any synchronization between the EU and the administration in Washington”, Pendarovski has added away.
