The highest administrative court in France has refused on Tuesday the request of three clubs to cancel the decision to interrupt the edition of League 1, but has decided that the departure from the elite of Amiens and Toulouse must be suspended.
France's Football League decision to interrupt the edition has meant that Lyons has failed to qualify in Europe, while Amiens and Toulouse have left the elite as the last on the board.
The ruling on interruption was made after the government had said in April that professional sports would not be allowed until September. But meanwhile, the teams have returned to training, while it has been said that the finale of the cup could be played in July or August.
The court has confirmed the conditions set by the league, especially for the Ligue 1” championship classification, says a State Council communique. The judge in the summary procedure suspends the fall of Amiens 2 and Toulouses”.
Given the basis that two teams were promoted by Ligue 2, the Council of State ordered France's Football League to review the decision on the upcoming championship. The league can grow to 22 teams in 2020\21.
