The Albanian Football Federation has suggested that the Albanian national football will play friendly matches against Armenia on 7 October 2020.
The FSHF has already reached an agreement with the Armenian Football Federation, which will play in the Armenian capital, Yerevan.
Albania and Armenia have faced five times in formal and friendly matches in their history. The first match between the two representatives was played on November 9th 1996 in Tirana, and ended in draw 1-1. The challenge was valid for the World Eliminators “Frank 1998”. The return meeting was played on 6 September 1997 in Yerevan and closed with a 3-0 victory for Armenia.
Albania and Armenia faced themselves for the third time in a friendly one played on 14 August 2013 in Tirana, with the Reds that won with a score of 2-0.
Also, the two representatives were in one group in European Eliminators “France 2016”. In the first match of March 29, 2015, played at the “Elbasan Arena” stadium, Albania won the 2-1 figures, while the return challenge played on October 11, 2015, in Yerevan closed with the 3-0 red triumph. A match that Albanians remember well after securing the National qualifying for the finals of “Euro 2016”.
