The original edict had distinguished athletes in team sports and those in individual discipline, such as tennis and athletics, although the form of training was identical.
Since some regional assemblies will open training centres from May 4th and not wait until May 18th, the government has acknowledged that it is not fair to continue limiting some.
Clubs and Italy's Football Players Association have successfully defended their case, saying it is safer to run to the training centre where social distance is guaranteed than to run in local parks.

Serie A insists that the protocol it has is similar to that in Spain and Germany, while adding that a bonus is that Italy has the greatest testing capacity, as it is one of the first European countries to be hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
