Vozinha's mother provides visa to see her son in the world

The mother of Cape Verde's goalie, Vozinha, will be able to obtain visas to enter the United States and follow closely to her son at the World Cup, as high costs had made it impossible for her to participate in the historic match of equal to Spain earlier in the week, the Democrat leader of the US House of Representatives, Hakem Jeffries, announced on Wednesday.
Cape Verde was included in the US government's list of countries whose citizens have to deposit a $15,000 return guarantee, in addition to the visa fee, to travel to the US.
The Trump administration removed this request last month for World Cup ticket holders, but by then high costs had caused 40-year-old goalkeeper Anna Candida Evora's mother to be unable to travel.
Jeffries said visa fees have been lifted and Evora could be present in the next Cape Verde match to Uruguay on Sunday in Miami.
He thanked State Secretary Marco Rubio and the American State Department for their cooperation.
Vozinha, 40, is one of the most beloved football players of Cape Verde and has been the leading goalkeeper for 13 years.
He has been one of this World's surprises, helping his national to take its first historic point and win millions of new social networking followers. /Telegraph/
