Health Ministry charged with budget theft and malmanagement at the time of pandemic

Members of the parliamentary Commission for Health have accused the Health Ministry of stealing millions of euros from Kosovo's budget through negotiating tenders during the time of pandemic, non-management of the situation in the north, and favouring Serbia with tests it has accepted but not used.

So said after the commission's meeting, where the director has reported the National Institute of Public Health, Naser Ramadani, and the director of the University Clinical Hospital Service, Bassri Sejdiu.

Health Commission Chairman Albena Resiti said nobody knows who monitors medical teams at Pristina Airport yet.

“There is no monitoring the situation in the north, there is no recommended test of the Kosovo National Institute of Public Health. Also, tests in the north are realised by the northern municipality, only in the beginning some tests have been conducted in some cases, this has been told to us”, she said, adding that the institute has recommended that schools not yet be opened.

The member of this commission from PDK ranks, Bekim Haxhiu, after the meeting of this commission, has said that the management of pandemic has divided it into management by health professionals and police, as well as political management of the ministry and Kurti Government. The latter said there were abuses.
