PDK: Kurti government has no control in the north, Serbia halted circulation in that section for 48 hours Pristina

The Democratic Party of Kosovo calls it unacceptable to bring the dismissed government, Kurti, against the last situation in the country's north. The PDK says that day after day, the government is only leaving the effective control of that part and the clearer evidence is respect for Belgrade's decisions, rather than our government in Pristina.

In the PDK's response, the decision to stop the circulation for 48 hours in the country's north by the government of Serbia is the strongest testimony to what the PDK has established since the beginning that Prime Minister Kurti has surrendered to the situation in the north and has no control.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo considers it unacceptable to bring the dismissed government, Kurti, against the last situation in the country's north. Day after day, the government is only moving away from the effective control of that part and clearer evidence are respecting Belgrade's decisions and not our government in Pristina.

The decision to stop the circulation for 48 hours in the country's north by the Government of Serbia is the strongest testimony of what the PDK has originally established that Prime Minister Kurti has surrendered to the situation in the north and has no control.

Serbia's recent behaviour comes days after the government lied it was the one who has declared the state of emergency in northern municipalities. Also, Deputy Prime Minister Abazi declared that part last week split, saying he did not “wanted to drop to the trains” tried to mask the quarantine decision of the two northern municipalities as if it was taken by the government rather than by the Serb parallel structures. But Kurti's setback and approval, Belgrade is exploiting it to further strengthen control by escalation the situation with the decision to stop the entire circulation for the next two days.

To The PDK, the government should not be silent in the face of this new situation and urgently invite all important political and security institutions to analyse any of Serbia's behaviour, which is arguing for pandemic is gaining strategic ground towards Kosovo. Kurti's banned government must not abuse pandemic to cover these concessions to Belgrade, and should as soon as possible make whatever agreement or co-operation is done with Serb parallel structures.

The issue of northern Kosovo is our national interest and is not the duty or exclusive responsibility of no political party or leader in Kosovo. So, The PDK wants everyone's attention in Kosovo and separately the responsibility of the dismissed government.

The PDK will engage with its entire political and institutional capacity to stop the further degradation of this government in flight that is going to harm the state and, in particular, the northern part of the Republic of Kosovo.
