Visit marked official launch of partnership between Agency United States United International Development ( U n US and Fund Children's Children Nations United ( U n NICEF in the fight against COVID-19.
“US entered partnership with U NICEF in Kosovo to help families and institutions that are on the front lines of this battle. Only a unified international response is effective against this global threat. Together we can defeat COVID-19,” Ambassador Costett said during the visit.
The US government through USAID has allocated $1.1m to help Kosovo fight the COVID-19 pandemic and alleviate its consequences.
The US government-funded toilet families will be distributed to 26 municipalities. In addition, family and baby hygiene sets for marginalised pregnant women and their children will be distributed to 31 municipalities, while hygienic sets for medical family centres will be distributed to 38 municipalities.
