April 18 is known as the European Day for Patients' Rights, where on this day it is aimed at disinclimate patients, health institutions, and lawmakers in respecting the basic rights of patients.
Basic rights of internationally recognised patients affirm and guarantee effective exercise by individuals for preventive medicine, access to services, information, consent, free choice, private life and privacy, respect for patient time, right to complain and receive compensation, etc.
The celebration of this day is aimed at conscious citizens that they have rights in healthcare, but also in conveying the message to institutions that guaranteed rights with legislation should be respected.
But this year's celebration has another meaning, as all of Europe is facing the COVID-19 pandemic.
