The prices of elementary things have begun to rise in Kosovo markets, as a number of citizens have started to provide food reserves because of fears of koronavirus, even though no case has yet been presented in our country.
The prices have been raised by specific brands and confirmed last night by Kosovo Competition Authority Chairman Valon Pretreshi through a Facebook post, where he showed how the price of a regular food product, turkey soup has increased by about 200%.
Concerned about rising prices, a citizen has written on Facebook to Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu.
The citizen has told “The minister's primary prices began to rise on the March”.
There has been no delay, and the response of Minister Haxhiu, who has warned punishment for all who exploit the current situation.
“will have inspection and condemnation of those who exploit and misuse the current”, Haxhiu wrote.
Z. Prime Minister Hoti last night at the government meeting proposed an Executive Commission compounding the Competition Authority and several ministers to monitor the misuse of prices in such an emergency situation.
