Mount Everest is closed to the rest of the expedition season because of the coronary explosion.
Nepal's government announced it will cancel all permits for climbing to the highest peak from March 14th to April 30th.
China has also cancelled expeditions from the northern, Chinese-controlled mountain.
According to Kathmandu Post, Nepal earns $4m only through permission issued to Everst every year, in addition to other tourism revenues.
“We have decided to halt all tourist visas by 30 April,” said Narayan Prasad Bidari, secretary of the Prime Minister's Office.
Until now, all issued permits and those still issued for the 2020 season will be cancelled”, he added.
Most climbers come from the United States, India, China, the United Kingdom, Japan, and South Korea and are the main source of income for the Nepal government. /Periscopi
