Slovenia lowers MPs, ministers' salaries, workers paid in March

Slovenia's government has approved the first package to help private sector businesses and workers, and at the same time has reduced the salaries of senior public officials.
The act stipulates a 30% decrease in the basic wage of senior officials, president of the Republic of Slovenia, prime minister, Secretary General of Government, Ministers, Secretary of State, Councillors of the Republic of Slovenia, Secretary General of the Office of the Republic of Slovenia, Chief of the Office of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, as well as deputies and senior officials in other state bodies.
While the first package of measures is aimed at improving people's social standing. Self-employees who will be declared affected by the crisis using a special electronic application will receive 350 euros for March if they prove their revenues have dropped by at least 25% compared to February 2020, and will receive 700 euros for April and May 2020 if they prove their income has dropped by at least 50% compared to February 2020. At the same time, the state will also cover all social security contributions.
The assistance will also be provided to all full-time students living in the Republic of Slovenia in the form of a fee of 150 euros, which will be paid by 30 April 2020. For families with three children, it is paid up to 100 euros, while for families with four or more children an additional 200 euros.
Additions are spent on all pensioners, and the amount depends on the value of pensions they receive as well as on social cases.
