Harris, who is seen as a rising star within the party, emerged from the presidential race in December.
Support for Biden grew early Super Tuesday, where 77-year-old came out victorious in ten of the 14 states that voted.
The list of potential candidates who could actually win the nomination then narrowed down to a race between Biden and Senator Bernie Saunders.
