European Union leaders have agreed to impose a 30-day travel ban on most foreign citizens to prevent the spread of the coronary.
EU leaders agreed to immediately close the 27-nation bloc's external borders.
Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, said the EU officials' proposal has received great support from member states.
The implementation depends on them. They said they would do it right away,” said Von der Leyen.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said European leaders agreed during a video conference with the European Commission's proposal to establish a ban on EU entry with “very limited exceptions”.
The “leaders also agreed to co-ordinate the return of EU citizens out of the bloc,” added Merkel.
On March 11, the World Health Organization declared a global pandemic because of the spread of the coronary. More than 7,500 people have died from COVID-19 worldwide, and over 180,000 cases of coronary infection have been confirmed in nearly 160 countries, Kosovas broadcast.
