From 115-78 for Kosovo, Serbia makes score 97-96 at UN: Next fatal recognition

This morning, Serbian diplomacy chief Ivica Dacic has shown that Sierra Leone has also recognised the independence of the Republic of Kosovo. But that recognition is even more serious when the situation in the United Nations organization is considered. Two years ago, 115 states already recognised Kosovo and [...]
Two years ago, 115 states already recognised the recognition of 78 other UN member states. That was a great advantage, giving a great advantage even at the negotiating table with Serbia. But our diplomacy went into a deep sleep, and the result came down and down.
This is the recognition of the 18th state of Kosovo, which significantly narrows our advantage along with Serbia in the UN, writes Periscopi.
Out of 115-78, the result already became 97-96 for Kosovo, which means that the next recognition will be fatal for our country.
Kosovo earlier in its rhetoric in respect with dialogue on Serbia repeatedly used the argument that we have been recognised by most UN states. With the outcome returned through expectations, Serbia is now the one who has such an important argument in hand.
We remember that Dacic has reiterated that these recognitions actually have temporary characters, as they were done in order to pave the way for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia on the final status of the first.
And it seems that the international insistence on the status and direct involvement of Kosovo has made these states see fit to recognise our state.
Let's hope that our diplomacy led by Glauk Konjufca will draw up a strategy to turn the trend around. /Periscope
