Wessel: If there is no Government Monday, the country will go to the polls

Leader of The PDK, Kadri Veselini, thinks the country should go to the polls if there is no coalition government at Monday's session between the Vetevendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo.

In a statement to Klan Kosovo, he has confirmed that governance should have civic legitimacy and political agreement, while expressing itself against the blockades.

If there is no Government on Monday, then after Monday only elections are a solution. There should be no other option. There is no legitimacy and legality any other option”. According to him, the political situation in the country has been severely degraded by the 2014 elections, with blockades and cramps, and the country is no longer recovering.

“Governance must have civic legitimacy and political agreement. No blockades, conditioning, blackmail, power struggle. This damaging logic must be permanently over”.

“Should respect civic legitimacy and the outcome of democratic elections” must be accepted, Wessel added.

Chairman The PDK, which has declared on the evening of October 6th that his party will go into opposition, has also warned that the delay in establishing the government is damaging Kosovo's citizen, as well as the state itself inside and abroad. “Blokada and political blackmail, 6 months in 2014, about 3 months in 2017, and now 4 months. They are the same acts then, and now, with the same mentality when they lose, even when they win, they accept neither rules nor democratic agreements”, he has declared.

“if the Government is not voted Monday, and the winner behind it does not offer another mandate, then must go to the elections”, Veselin said of Klan Kosovo. The Kosovo Assembly will convene at 11:00 on Monday to vote on the Government of Kosovo. Vetevendosje and LDK have not yet reached agreement, while claiming they are continuing efforts at such a thing.
