A second avalanche has hit eastern Turkey today, taking the lives of 33 people.
According to foreign media, the last people to change their lives were from the rescue workers team who were mobilized to help those who were trapped by snow as a result of the first avalanche.
Officials said 26 emergency workers were killed, while 53 were injured and others are still “exhumed” under the snow.
The total number of deaths has revealed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
About 300 emergency service workers were called for help on a highway near the town of Bahcesaray Mountain in Van province, which borders Iran, records Telegrafi.
Turkey's Agency for Emergency Management and Disasters (AFAD) has stated that 26 troops were found in the snow mass, while Van Mayor Mehmet Emin Bilmez has indicated that eight military police officers -- three government-paid village guards, three firefighters and nine volunteers were among the dead.
