Thaci: Selman Vojvoda heroically fell into peaceful institutions against Serbian police, military

Today through a memorial academy is recalling the life and work of witness Selman Vojvoda on the 30th anniversary of his murder.

“We are remembering the heroic fall of student Selman Vojvoda, 30 years ago at the 1990 demonstrations in the town of Mitrovica. As it is widely known a year before the national responsibilities took the lead in demonstrating against Serbia, Milosevic's 1989 Belgrade had neglected the 1974 conditions, removing any autonomous attributes of Kosovo”.

The “Bilanc of those demonstrations was closed to those killed, wounded and arrested. This State Representative of Serbia had started earlier, but it was systematic since the 1981 demonstration by students who were supported by everyone in Kosovo”.

Thaci has stressed that Selman Vojvoda as a student had left the book to join resistance against Serbia three decades ago.

Among those people who showed determination, intelligence and vision was student Selman Vojvoda. He set the finest example of how a young man left the book and stood before demonstrations. His fall was not random. Patriotism was inspired by his family. Selman Vojvodina came heroicly into the institutions of peaceful resistance against the police and the Serbian Army”.
