Kosovo and Serbia will sign letters expressing readiness for the opening of roads that are part of railway and road corridors linking the capitals of the Western Balkans to each other and beyond to Europe.
This is expected to happen in Germany today with the mediation of the American president's special envoy for dialogue, Richard Greenell, writes news.net.
And that step, the Serbian side is calling it very profitable for their economy and for Serbs living in Kosovo.
The director of the so-called office for Kosovo in Serbia's government, Marko Djuric, said today that railway lines between Kosovo and Serbia are reactivating after 20 years.
Calling Kosovo “province”, he said Belgrade would already be much closer to it.
This is something that will bring the capital, Belgrade, to the south province. It is something that, as soon as implemented, including railways passing through Merdares, will make Serbian goods reach Kosovo faster, and passengers will travel much easier”, he has told RTS.
According to him, the message of all this agreement is the economic connection between the two countries, and the benefits it accords with.
The Security Conference in which Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti will be present today, as well as the country's president, Hashim Thaci, will be in Germany.
