Thaci had been a fanatic supporter of the Vetevendosje Movement and its leaders, Mr. Kurti had also contributed earlier to many matters involving education issues.
In his first speech as deputy minister, Thaci has thanked Kurti and Minister Hykmete Bajrami, and has also promised he will resign from the position he holds at the ATOM Institute, writes Periscope.

He had earlier been Director of Education in the Pristina municipality.

Honored citizens of the Republic of Kosovo,
Today I have accepted the task of deputy minister at the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and innovation (MASHTI). I thank Prime Minister Kurti for his confidence and Minister Bajrami for the co-operation offered!
Just as I have done in the past when I have received public duties related to education, this time I will continue to remain a nonparty person who maintains independence and personal and professional integrity, guided only by the highest professional standards and radical transparency, fully devoted to despite knowledge and love of the field, and with all its intellectual and physical capacity to contribute to the improvement of the educational situation in Kosovo.
I will faithfully and professionally carry out every task and responsibility that is delegated to me and charged by Minister Bajrami for any field or level of education. Of course, just as I am diagnosed with a professional experience in the civil society sector as well as in the public and private sector, and in accordance with personal vision of the future of the country and society, I will continue to be a great advocate and advocate of ideas and projects involving the promotion and support of technology, innovation and youth with extraordinary intellectual potential, gifts and talents, such as the best future and the most invaluable wealth of our country and our society.
I promise that I will be fully committed to improving education in Kosovo, in the hope that the day I leave this position I leave education a little better than I have ever found the day I accepted this position!

P.S.: In order to avoid any conflict of interest and to violate the reputation of the organization I have worked on so far, in the case of accepting the deputy minister's office I have resigned from all positions and functions at the ATOM Institute. Within the month, I will spend all my duties and responsibilities on the relevant staff.
