The northern Macedonia Assembly with 114 votes “pro” yesterday adopted the Law to ratify the North Atlantic Agreement.
The law is inadmissible and will come into force after Spain ratifys the Protocol for our NATO membership.
After the hearing the flag of the North Atlantic Alliance was raised before the Northern Macedonia Assembly.
US Ambassador to NATO Kay Bailey Hachinson confirmed that all who await the North Macedonia flag will start waving in front of the Alliance's headquarters in Brussels as soon as possible in the spring.
Hachinson in Brussels today will participate in the Alliance's member states defence ministers' meeting. In today's news review with journalists, she has concluded that she will be discussed at the meeting for the following priorities and the peak provided “at the NATO summit last year in December”.
One of the priorities this year is the Alliance's one-seat expansion, northern Macedonia after passing the ratification of parliaments of all member states.
Macedonia's “Falur will wave before Brussels in the spring. Our allies from Macedonia have done excellent work with reforms. Praise for patience and leadership in solving (the problem) by the name that has been key to the start of the entire process for membership”, she has said.
Secretary - General NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, responding to the journalists' question of whether the failure to adopt the new defence law puts Article 5 of the NATO Charter at risk for collective protection, reminded that North Macedonia would still be obligated to respect it.
Article 5 of the NATO Charter is a «from the Alliance's most important pillars, he predicts the attack on a member state is considered an attack on all others. /AlsatM/
