No political party or candidate has applied to the Central Election Commission to participate in the Podujevo municipality's mayoral elections.

CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has indicated to Kosovo Preress that so far they have not accepted any applications from candidates or political parties.

Until today, so Friday at the Central Election Commission, we have not accepted any application on the part of political subjects who want to participate in the March 15th elections for the mayor of the Podujevo municipality”, he said.

All political parties and candidates who want to participate in the Podujevo municipality's mayoral elections have deadlines to apply by February 17th.

“Affati that when political subjects must submit their application to be certified for participation in these elections, as well as the name of the mayoral candidate of the municipality is February 17th. By 18am Monday we will wait for political subjects to submit their applications”, he said.

Elez said the Office for Registeration of Political Partys all applications made are considered and then presented to the CEC recommendations regarding certificate of a political subject.

“Zyra for registering the Political Party all applications made are considered and then presented to the Central Election Commission and recommendations regarding the Certificate of any political subject. So, immediately after February 17th, the Office for Registeration of Political Partys all applications to be made are considered and then prepare recommendations for each of their applications and which it presents to the CEC for approval or not”, Elesi said.

The election for chairman of the Podujevo municipality will be held on March 15th, while this municipality has gone to the polls after President Agim Veliu has been elected minister in the Government of Kosovo.
