Foreign Affairs Minister Glauk Konjufca is participating in the “From Thessaloniki Conference in Zagreb”. The conference is taking part in the top diplomats of all Western Balkan states, while Konjufca has fallen to meet with Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic for the first time.
Konjufca has announced that in his speech, he has stressed that Kosovo will make the reforms needed for the path to European integration.
Conjufca also says some of the goals of the new Kosovo government are good neighbourly and dialogue with Serbia.
“I have also assured that economic and social development, good neighbourly and dialogue with Serbia are the long-term goals of the new government to contribute and ensure regional peace”, Conjufca wrote.
Complete Conjufca scripture:
As Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, I am attending the summit with regard to the European perspective of the Western Balkans “From Thessaloniki to Zagreb”, which is being held in Thessaloniki with the participation of foreign affairs ministers of Western Balkan countries in the presence of the Croatian Presidency of the EU, the EU Foreign Service and representatives of the European Commission.
In the address given I have stressed the dedication of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo on the road to European integration, as well as commitment to continue with reforms on the path to European integration.
Among other things, I have sought a positive decision on visa liberalisation for citizens of the Republic of Kosovo in order not to isolate youth from its perspective.
I have also assured that economic and social development, good neighbourhood and dialogue with Serbia are the long-term goals of the new government to contribute and ensure regional peace.
In terms of new developments on the European road, I have welcomed the new methodology approved by the Commission, as well as have expressed positive conviction for the summit between EU and Western Balkan countries in Zagreb during May 2020.
While in Thessaloniki, I have also responded to the Greek media's interest in expressing the attitudes of the Republic of Kosovo and the new government regarding the integration of the Western Balkans with the EU and our positions on the region.
We remember that Prime Minister Albin Kurti is also staying abroad, attending the London Summit. Near Kurti is Serbia's Prime Minister Anna Brnabyq.
