LDK Deputy Chairman Lutfi Haziri has said he has been very committed to long negotiations to reach agreement on co-governance with Vetevendosje Movement.
It's been 10 days since I didn't attend, but these have been personal and health reasons. These days I've been missing was just a meeting held at American University. I was present at all other meetings”
I've been with high intensity engaged in the team to close the deal. Of course, until leaders are signed, it has always been treated as part of negotiations that have been extremely intense”.
Haziri, once viewed as a coalition-heroist with Vetevendosje movement, was soon turned into a réheroinʹ of reaching the agreement for co-governance between the LDK and the Vetevendosje Movement when such a thing was seriously threatened not to happen.
Although named one of the key men who built the V coalition V- The LDK, Haziri in Info Magazine of Kosovo has said the merits belong to the LDK and Isa Mustaf.
I want to underline the team and LDK chairman Isa Mustafa, who has led this extremely difficult process. I was one of them, one of the five regular members who worked in this direction”.
“In the first phase, we worked on building the first draft ] smelting sectoral and ideological policies. It has not been easy, but it has been a process involving technocrats and experts in order to achieve drafting the agreement and reaching our common points”.
The one that turned out most difficult, and that people have expected sooner, is reaching political agreement on sharing constitutional responsibilities, in representation. It wasn't easy, I didn't even expect it to be easy”.
Haziri has confessed the formula for convincing Vetevendosje Movement to withdraw from its position for the chief parliament.
There were at least more necessary meetings. In the political will to achieve a goal, compromises and political pragmatism must be offered. We cannot only be called into pro-Western political culture, in which we all pledge, unless we practice the value of this culture that is compromise and pragmatism to achieve political goals”.
At the last meeting was Vjosa Osmani and I, with Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti and Besnik Bissim. It wasn't a scheduled meeting earlier, but the will to talk and get all forms of discussion was what sat us at the table and talk”.
He has declared that the LDK and the Vetevendosje Movement have reached a coalition without international mediation, which, according to him, has happened very rarely in Kosovo.
“Let me confirm that it is from the rare times that in Kosovo, after the war, political agreement has been reached [ The LDK-VVV] saw international mediating and extenuating neither external nor domestic”.
He has even insisted that even top international officials including US President's Special Envoy for Dialogue Richard Greenfield and the ambassadors of QUINT countries have not pressured or intervened in reaching this agreement.
There was no role to play. They have confirmed their neutrality, impartiality and role as diplomas and representatives of friendly states. There have been no interference, the will to build governments after 6 October has been continuous up to the extent of political pressure. There has been no unbearable pressure, but it has been pressure not to allow delay”.
But what was the point that sealed the achievement of the V coalition? V-LDK?
“compromis has occurred, as has pragmatism. Without mutual compromises and pragmatism there would be no deal. The sides come to a point where greater trust and endurance are built than distrust”.
I think this has been decomposing. There has been a point where both sides have achieved a degree of confidence that we will engage in a partnership without clauses, astrosities and obligations highlighted but committed to achieving common goals. We've wanted from the beginning to clear the deal to the end so that we don't allow planted political bombs that cause crisis, problems and instability. This has been deermining to a point where the parties start to trust each other more, take responsibility and little political risk, end of”,
Do Lutfi Haziri trust Albin Kurti?
I have no reason to be skeptical in applying what we agreed to. We need to give the first 100 days of support where the opposition should be patient. The LDK has had this privilege of having 13 days in quiet government, but at least we have to act politically and be correct. Every government and prime minister need the first 100 days to focus solely on the priorities and the building of human capacities in governance”.
