The democratic candidate in the US presidential race, Bernie Sanders, had strongly defended Kosovo before the US Congress in 1999.
Sanders now have no discussion that is most strongly likely to come up against Donald Trump in the presidential election to be held in November of this year.
But what will be the policy of Sanders in Kosovo if he succeeds in becoming president of the United States? There is little known about this, though as most Social Democrats, it is against the interventary approach in most cases, when it becomes unerring and enslaved to other peoples.
He has even promised to withdraw all American troops from Afghanistan, and to examine the position of other American troops in other countries.
But, at the time Kosovo's fate was being decided, and there was not a little opposition at the US Congress about NATO intervention in Kosovo, Sanders had said a great yes to this intervention.
Bernie had not even hesitated to call him a war criminal Slobodan Milosevic, saying people in Kosovo would have to return to their home and that Kosovo should ensure some form of self-government.
The constitution is very clear. It is the convention I must decide on for peace and war. It is the president who is supreme commander of the army, but it is Congress that decides whether we should use the army. I have heard today some people say that our intervention in Kosovo would be unconstitutional. They're right. But the U.S. intervention in Vietnam, Granada, Panama and other countries was also unconstitutional. ”
