The number of cancer cases has increased by 4% compared to 2018, since about a thousand and 586 new cases of this disease were diagnosed during 2019.
The number of patients reported at Oncology Clinic averages about 30 to 35 women a month with breast cancer, which is that in one year some 380 new breast cancer cases have been recorded in women and all ages.
So it was said at a conference organised by the Oncology Clinic and the Association of Oncologists of Kosovo, on the occasion of World Cancer Day note, where statistics were published on the disease.
Oncology Director Ilir Kurtishi made it known that this clinic, despite the many challenges it has faced, has managed to overcome and help a large part of patients to fight the disease.
The chairman of the Oncologists' Association, Arben Bislimi, said the purpose of marking World Cancer Day is to reduce the global burden of this disease and promote health.
Bislimin made it known that 1/3 of this disease can be prevented through early discovery.
Bislem expressed gratitude to the ocology staff, who according to him do a wonderful job of preventing and curing cancer.
Patient and founder of the breast cancer association “Life via”, Nafije Latifi, said breast cancer disease attacks every tenth of the woman.
Latif called on all the women to present you to the doctor so that the disease could be discovered as soon as possible. She pointed out that only early discovery enables healing.
In contrast, the purpose of the World War Against Cancer Day is awareness and information of citizens about the disease.
