Agim Veliu is expected to be Minister of Internal Affairs, a ministry that has been pressingly demanding Vetevendosje and that had become <x0-> argue” in coalition negotiations between Isa Mustaf and Albin Kurti.
This step of Mustafa is seen as a strong message to Prime Minister Kurti, that he will not be allowed to dominate the government, but that he will have business with someone known as a strong man and the power he has in the LDK and on the ground.
Agim Veliu was the only voice within the LDK that has opposed the coalition with Vetevendosje, insisting that the division of power between the two parties should balance the civic will expressed on 6 October in the general elections.
Days earlier, commenting on LDK Deputy Chairman Agim Veliu's statement, Agim Veliu, who had been pessimistic about reaching the agreement for co-governance with VV, Albulen Haxhiu, had declared that the “stances of Agim Veliu are already known to”.
“We are not expecting the position of Agim Veliu, but of the Steering Council”, it was expressed.
If Agim Veliu is elected Minister, Podujevo will go to the polls.
