Agim Veliu Interior Minister, Podujevo goes to elections

Already with the election of Agim Veliu as minister of Internal Affairs, this municipality will go to early elections for leadership of this municipality, as Veliu must resign because of the ministerial post.

Under the law, Veliu currently accepts the minister's position, should resign from the position of Podujevo chairman, and this town within 45 days holds new elections where the new chairman is elected.

We remember Agim Veliu was re-elected as mayor of the Podujevo municipality after the runoff in the 2017 local elections. He was elected for the fifth time as chairman of Podujevo.

Veliu is chairman of the LDK branch in Podujevo and deputy chairman of LDK.
