Abdixhiku has said he has accepted two institutional opinions for canceling this tender after it was announced at a time when Kosovo has not had a budget approved for 2020.
Minister Abdixhiku stressed that the call for the tender can be made after we approve the budget for 2020, and once we understand how much this minister has to budget
“MTI in the mandate of last government, on 13 January of this year has announced tenders worth 100m euros and 10m euros for the construction of a 24km Banulle-Andu White highway.
At this time of announced thank you with budgetary implications, the country had no New Government, and there was no budget approved for 2020.
During the first few days of my work as minister of the MTI, I have been informed of two opinions of institutions about this tender, one of the Public Prosecutorial and Finance Ministry's Regulatory Commission.
Both opinions clearly stress that without budgetary division we cannot announce calls establishing financial obligations for Kosovo.
So based on the submitted documents, I've asked the relevant organs to look at the procedures to cancel the tender in question. The current government will review all decisions made by the past government.
The call for the tender can be made after we adopt the budget for 2020, and once we understand how much this minister has budgeted, he said.
