The 101-year-old Italian man applies to stay in Britain after Brex: Parents Ask Him to Witness

An Italian elder who has been in London since 1966 and who is 101 years old has shown that the Civil Administration Office had asked him to take his parents to confirm his identity when he applied to stay in Britain in the post-Brexite period. The official's computer apparently thought [...]
Apparently the official's computer thought the 101-year-old old man was actually a 1-year-old baby.
His name was Giovanni Palmierro, and he said he needed the presence of his mother and father when he applied to stay in Islington, London, writes The Guardian.
When the volunteer who had helped Palmiero had scanned his passport to share biometric data with the Civil Management Office, the system had wrongly set the date of birth from 1919 to 2019.
I immediately noticed that something was wrong because when I scanned his passport, he imported his biometric data, not as 1919, but as 2019. Then the facial recognition section applied to those under the age of 12,” said Dimitri Scarlato, who works for an organisation that helps citizens of Italian origin.
Later, they had requested the details of Palmero's parents ' residence.
I was surprised. I called the Civil Office and I wasted half an hour explaining that it was the fault of the app instead of me, said Mr. Scarlato.
Then the civil office had pleaded guilty to the case. /Periscope
