From today everyone can move free with Urban Traffic buses

From today's circulation of Urban Traffic buses in Pristina will be free for all citizens.

This will be for a month. Thus has Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti announced during Monday.

The “accuration with Urban Traffic buses will be free for all citizens for a month in a row, starting tomorrow 1 December. The implementation of all the rules and safeguard clauses against #Convid19 remain in force and are binding on anyone traveling on those buses”, Ahmeti wrote.

Ahmeti has also talked about the Kosovo Democratic Party's ambologists' proposal (PDK) that free transportation for travellers be available for four months, which he says despite this being a good statement such a decision cannot be made without changing the budget.

However, he says after December the new budget and financial situation will be assessed.

“In the pre-end meeting of the Municipal Assembly, the assistants of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) have proposed and passed the recommendation for free public transportation for the next four months. Despite the good proposal, such decisions that affect the budget cannot be taken without changing the budget. This year we can do it, but for 2021 we don't have an approved budget because the Republic Parliament hasn't decided yet. But even in the budget we sent it, it's not in advance. So after December, we will assess the new situation depending on the budget and the financial situation in general. While those who paid the monthlys last day will get their money back.
