But each of us has a past, often not easy. Especially when we talk about the recent war generation in Kosovo.
Elbenita was only nine years old in 1999, when the war had reached its peak.
Elbenita, with a bottle of milk in her hand, is the photograph that a childhood friend sent to Elbenite last night, and this has thrilled the soprano and turned it back on time. Behind this picture lies an inspiring story she has decided to share with her Facebook followers.
KultPlus brings you the touching story of Elbenita without interference:
This is me with a bottle of delicious milk in hand five months after the war in Mitrovica-Kosovo, in 26.10.1999 at 08:09 in the morning! I'll tell everyone a little story. Before the war we had two beautiful cows and sold milk in the neighborhood, because my two beautiful cows had the best milk available, and I was the child who distributed milk to our neighbors. During the war we were refugees in Albania, and of course we had to leave everything behind, even my two beautiful cows, whom I loved so much! I saw them for the last time when we left home and thought that I would never see them again, but my grandmother and I were looking for them when we came back from Albania and when the war was over. Even today I can't believe we found them! I was the happiest child on earth when we found them, I remember that I was thrown out of happiness! After the war, my old job returned, I continued to be the girl who distributed milk and loved my job! When a friend sent me this picture last night, I cried so much, I was so excited and remembered the exact time and day and everything that happened that day! It was such a beautiful sight to see, to always remind me of where I came from and to be proud of the fact that in the past I was a girl with very big dreams and also had a job to distribute milk and make money to help my family with that job, like a 9-year-old child! Who thought I was gonna be an opera singer... then I had no idea what opera was, believe me!
Ermonela Jaho told me one day that “nothing is impossible in this world, and you can achieve any dream you have”. I still believe in what she told me and I still look up to those words! #Kosovogirl with lots of dreams.
