Sali Berisha: I wanted national unity, but in Kosovo there was an elite that didn't want

He says political developments, along with the creation of the first anti-communist party in the Balkans, the LDK, inspired democracy throughout the region. He also says that on Ibrahim Rugova's first visit to Tirana, they wanted to kill him and Rugova.
“I wanted national unity, but in Kosovo an elite was created that wanted”, he said.
I always viewed Kosovo as the province of Albania”, he added.
