The Republic of Kosovo and Montenegro have had good reports since the February 17th 2008 declaration of independence. However, they were somewhat complicated with the case of the demarcation, as then opposition parties had accused the then state-run border demarcation commission, and the then government of shopping with the state.
However, Kosovo already awaits ratification of the agreement with Montenegro in the context of accession [like] to the European Union.
The approval of this draft will serve the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in bringing together and implementing goals for integration into the European Union, developing bilateral co-operation between the two countries. The two countries will intensify dialogue on increasing co-operation in the context of integration and accession, as well as on affirmation of European values. ”
In this context, there is also the importance of the new Montenegrin government's coming to power, viewed as pro-Serbian but which for the deputy prime minister has an Albanian named Dritan Abazovic.
Mr. Abazovic in connection with the issue of mending the demarcation made ʹ chairman of this commission from Kosovo had been Speed Bulqi, who already won the municipal power race in Podujevo.
There is no epilogue for border correction with Montenegro yet. Even this issue appears to have been completely forgotten by Vetevendosje, AAK (part of Government), Initiative (part of Government), and public opinion as a whole.
The government further emphasises that the agreement in question aims to improve regional co-operation, and that in focus is “economic and trade co-operation, free movement of people and capital, co-operation in the area of rule of law and harmonisation of legislation with the EU acquis. ”
These are all decisions taken by the Government of Kosovo.
