Kosovo health workers estimated unprepared to give the vaccine against COVID-19.

Although the Kosovo government and the Health Ministry have made supply requirements with this vaccine, no action has been taken to prepare health staff to provide it. Thus it is said that except there may be delays in the inoculation of citizens, there may also be failures in vaccines.

The president of the Federation of Kosovo Health Unions, Blerim Syla, has told Express that there is no preparation for the vaccine as other states have done.

He has indicated that health workers are not prepared for inoculation, and that is government neglect.

The provisions in Kosovo are not made as they are done in other states. I've raised this case before, this is a next malpractice. We're not properly prepared for vaccine. If the vaccine happens to be uncontrolled I'm afraid we can fail”, he said.

Syla has declared that there are no adequate stocks in Kosovo to preserve these vaccines, until she has said that next year's budget should be voted in faster to help this situation.

We're not properly prepared for vaccines, there's no stock to store these vaccines. As far as I have information we don't even have a budget for it, so we have to approve the” budget, he added.

While, even the member of the Parliamentary Commission for Health, simultaneously the deputy of the Vetevendosje Movement, Fitim Uka, has told Express that with these capacities in place, the realisation of the vaccine may not be effective.

This vaccine needs two interventions. With these overloaded health staff capacities, it can be difficult to implement the vaccine. Even the vaccine supply I think will be late”, he stated.

Uka has indicated that with actions taken so far, it will be too late for the country to prepare for the realisation of vaccines.

I think we're too late to make such a vaccination process and I'm hoping to be wrong, but with this step we've seen so far from the Ministry of Health I'm very skeptical about the scenario we might face, he added.

But neither the Ministry of Health nor the National Institute of Public Health has agreed to talk about preparing health workers.

On the other hand, Antigona Bajzak-Idriz, political adviser to Prime Minister Hoti, has told Express that the government has made efforts to be among the first countries to take the vaccine against Kosovo. COVIDD-19, while plans have been made, even for who will take this vaccine first.

The government has made maximum efforts for Kosovo to be among the first countries to take the vaccine against Covid-19. An action plan for specific groups that will be among the first to receive this” is designed, she added.

We remember that with the approval of the vaccine from the European Union, many countries have already begun to supply COVID-19 vaccines.

Among them, Serbia has been supplied today with several doses of this vaccine. While, the Ministry of Health has not revealed when Kosovo will be supplied with them.
